Our woodland

Our woodland near the Afton Water

The site of the woodland has been created at Craig’s Farm Estate near New Cumnock. The Afton Water flows through this secluded valley which lies on the Burns trail only about a mile from the beautiful Burns Cairn established by New Cumnock Burns Club. There is a beautiful picnic area situated near the Cairn beside the Afton Water, where you can take a break and experience the tranquillity of the area.

Overlooking the planting area is the rocky outcrop called ‘Castle William’ where it is reputed that William Wallace had a residence.

Only tree species which have historically been on the land will be planted and will include Scots Pine, Silver Birch, Willow and Rowan.

Flow gently, I'll sing thee a song in thy praise"
